Sales representative David W. Kirby was promoted to the new position

| July 31, 2012

David W. Kirby, a sales representative for Monrovia, was promoted to vice president of sales. Kirby first worked at Monrovia as a college intern in the early 90s while studying horticulture at Texas Tech University.  He joined the company in 1992 as an in-house sales rep for three years, and was then awarded a sales territory in 1995. For the past 17 years he’s covered the central coastal region of California, consistently achieving top sales accolades including several "Regional Sales Craftsman" awards.

Miles Rosedale, CEO of Monrovia, says that Kirby has a breadth of knowledge about both the retail and wholesale sides of the nursery industry.  He has worked with some of the best retail garden centers in the industry to develop marketing programs and sales promotions.

Kirby is an active board member of the local chapter of the California Association of Nursery and Garden Centers.  He lives with his wife and two sons in Santa Cruz, Calif.   When not gardening, he enjoys surfing and riding dirt bikes, and he plays guitar and sings in a band.
