University floriculturists seek input for planning tour

David Kuack | October 31, 2010

This year university floriculturists Mark Bridgen and Neil Mattson at Cornell Univ. and Roberto Lopez at Purdue Univ. led a tour with 36 participants to the California Spring Trials. The tour included commercial growers, horticultural professionals, students and educators from the U.S. and Canada. This year’s 3-day tour started in northern California and finished in the central part of the state.
For the 2011 event, scheduled for March 26-28, the tour will start in southern California and move north. The tour is open to commercial growers, professional floriculturalists and members of the academic community including students and instructors. The tour offers an opportunity to network with growers from across the country, domestic and international breeders, extension personnel and other plant company representatives. Questions concerning the tour should be directed to Mark Bridgen at Cornell Univ., (631) 727-3595.
